🌟 Support Our Mission: Healing for Black, Queer, Latinx & BIPOC Communities

Universal Therapies Healing in Color (UTHC INC) is a Black-, queer-, and BIPOC-led nonprofit dedicated to expanding mental health access for communities who have historically been denied culturally grounded, identity-affirming emotional support.

We serve the people who are too often overlooked, misunderstood, or priced out of care — Black men, queer and trans individuals, Latinx communities, and BIPOC individuals navigating trauma, identity conflict, financial hardship, and generational wounds.

Your donation helps us provide life-changing support through:

Sliding-scale therapy for Black queer men and BIPOC clients
Ensuring that culture-centered healing is accessible — not a privilege.

Free emotional support workshops + community healing spaces
Creating safe, affirming spaces where people can learn, connect, and heal together.

Digital mental health tools for Black MSM (Hush Health)
Bringing wellness to those who cannot access traditional care.

Identity, intimacy, and trauma healing support
Helping men navigate the intersections of race, masculinity, queerness, and survival.

Care for individuals who cannot afford mental health services
Removing the financial barriers that keep too many of us out of the healing process.Founding Supporter Levels

🌟 Your Impact

Black, queer, Latinx, and BIPOC communities carry some of the deepest emotional wounds — while having the fewest pathways to safe, culturally grounded care.

Your gift directly removes those barriers.
It brings healing within reach for people who have survived trauma, silence, shame, and systems that were never designed with them in mind.

Your support doesn’t just fund services — it transforms lives, restores dignity, and makes emotional freedom possible.

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS

1. Only 1 in 3 Black adults who need mental health care receives it.

Black communities experience significant barriers to accessing affirming and culturally competent mental health support.
(National Institute of Mental Health, 2023)

2. Black LGBTQ+ individuals are 2–3 times more likely to experience depression, anxiety, and trauma.

Intersecting experiences of racism, homophobia, and identity-related trauma increase emotional distress and decrease access to safe, affirming care.
(Human Rights Campaign, 2024; The Trevor Project, 2023)

3. Over 55% of BIPOC individuals cite cost, stigma, and lack of culturally competent providers as major barriers to mental health treatment.

This includes financial limitations, fear of not being understood, and negative experiences with non-diverse providers.
(American Psychological Association, 2022; Mental Health America, 2023)

4. Black Americans experience financial stress at nearly twice the rate of White Americans, with queer populations experiencing 3–4 times higher rates of financial trauma overall.

Financial trauma intersects deeply with race, sexuality, and trauma histories.
(APA Stress in America Report, 2023; Williams Institute, 2022)

5. Representation in mental health care is critically low: only 4% of U.S. therapists are Black, and only 2% are Black men.

Lack of representation contributes to mistrust, misdiagnosis, and cultural disconnection in care.
(APA Workforce Data, 2021)

Who I Work With

〰️

Who I Work With 〰️

I support adults who are carrying a lot — emotionally, professionally, spiritually, and often in silence. Many of the people I work with are Black, Brown, and LGBTQ+ individuals, high-achieving professionals, caretakers, creatives, and leaders who are exhausted from surviving and ready to start living with more ease, clarity, and integrity.

My clients are often navigating:

• Complex, racialized, or identity-based trauma

People whose stories have been misunderstood or minimized, and who need a space built for the full truth of their experiences.

• Black, Brown, and LGBTQ+ folks seeking culturally grounded care

Individuals wanting therapy or coaching where they don’t have to translate, shrink, or defend who they are.

• High-functioning professionals dealing with burnout, pressure, and emotional overload

Those who look strong on the outside but are overwhelmed internally — and need tools, not judgment.

• People healing from family patterns, attachment wounds, and relationship cycles

Individuals wanting to break generational patterns, reconnect with themselves, and build healthier ways of loving and being loved.

• Those navigating grief, identity shifts, transitions, and emotional turning points

People moving through losses, endings, transformations, or seasons of self-discovery that require deeper support and reflection.

My Approach

My Approach 〰️

How I Work

My work is trauma-informed, culturally grounded, and rooted in emotional intelligence. I blend traditional psychotherapy with narrative, somatic, and liberation-focused approaches. Together, we make space for all of you—your grief, your brilliance, your doubt, your hope—and we work toward a life where you’re not just getting through the day but actually feeling more present, powerful, and aligned.

Therapy with me is collaborative, direct, and deeply compassionate. I won’t ask you to shrink, perform, or translate your experience to be understood.

✨ What I Believe

I believe that healing is both deeply personal and profoundly political. People are not broken—systems break people. Trauma, racism, homophobia, financial instability, and family legacies of survival all leave impressions on the body and psyche, but they never erase your inherent worth. My work exists at the intersection of identity, emotional intelligence, and liberation because I believe therapy should affirm who you are, not force you to shrink to be understood.

I believe in honoring the full complexity of Black and Brown people, queer people, masculine-presenting people, and anyone who has had to survive more than they were ever meant to. In therapy with me, you never have to translate your identity or minimize your truth. Your cultural reality, your spiritual experiences, your sexuality, your body, your grief, and your brilliance all belong in the room.

Healing is an act of reclamation. Emotional intelligence is a skill that can be learned. Vulnerability is a form of wisdom—not weakness. And every person deserves a space where they can exhale, unravel what’s heavy, and rise into a more grounded, aligned version of themselves.

Human Touch

Outside of my professional work, I’m someone who values culture, creativity, and connection. I’m a Black queer man who loves music—everything from Bobby Caldwell to Yoruba spiritual rhythms—and I often find clarity in cooking, travel, and storytelling. My spiritual life is grounded in ancestral reverence, cultural wisdom, and deep emotional introspection.

I believe in joy, humor, and softness as revolutionary practices. I love good food, thoughtful conversations, beautifully designed spaces, and the kind of laughter that makes your chest feel lighter. I bring all of who I am into my work: my cultural identity, my lived experiences, my intuition, my academic mind, my spiritual grounding, and my commitment to seeing people fully and without judgment.

It’s Time to Choose Yourself

You’ve carried so much for so long — the expectations, the silence, the survival, the shame, the heavy emotions you were never given the tools to name. You’ve held it together professionally, emotionally, spiritually… even when it felt like no one saw the weight you were dragging behind you.

But you don’t have to keep living that way.
Not another year.
Not another month.

That version of you is possible.
It’s real.
And it starts with one choice:

Choosing yourself.

Choosing your healing.
Choosing your emotional growth.
Choosing relationships that don’t drain you.
Choosing boundaries that protect your peace.
Choosing a life you don’t have to recover from every night.

This is your moment to step into something deeper, healthier, and more aligned.
